Every Friday afternoon at Onshape, the entire company gathers in the cafeteria for “Demo Day,” an opportunity to update each other on our most recent accomplishments. Because we release product enhancements every few weeks, there’s always something to celebrate. Demo Day is also an occasion for customers to showcase innovative products or share new design challenges – as well as for visitors to experience our company culture.

One recent visitor to Onshape’s “Show and Tell” was Bloomberg Businessweek journalist Michael Belfiore, who reports in this week’s issue about the CAD industry’s belated shift to the cloud and who’s leading the charge in Agile Design.

“Most major innovations happen with a platform shift,” Onshape co-founder John McEleney tells the magazine. “This really required a clean sheet of paper.”

Teasing the upcoming addition of advanced CAD analytics to Onshape Enterprise – in which large companies will get a real-time feed of all their design activity across multiple projects – CEO Jon Hirschtick predicts: “When they see that, a lot of our competitors are gonna go, ‘Holy s---.’”
