This is one of the most feature-packed updates to Onshape yet. As always, we’re introducing some new and exciting core CAD features, but that’s not all. We are also proud to announce one of the most significant additions to Onshape to date, FeatureScript!

Introducing FeatureScript

FeatureScript is a new programming language that lets you create custom parametric features that look, feel, and behave just like Onshape’s native features. Check out this link for more info.

Animate Mates

You can now animate mates in your assembly. Simply right click the mate and choose “Animate.”

Midpoints

With this update, we have added the ability to select midpoints of edges and sketch entities. This was possible in the past, but only while in a sketch. Now midpoints of edges and sketch entities that are not in the active sketch will be selectable.

Drawing Improvements

This update has added a number of new improvements to Onshape Drawings including the ability to flip the direction of section views, move view labels, and create detail views of section and auxiliary views.

Show All Parts

When parts are hidden, you will find a new “Show all parts” command in the right-click menu. This makes it easy to show all the parts without having to show everything.

Inserting Part Studios with Derived Feature

You can now insert an entire Part Studio at once using the Derived feature. In the past, this required inserting parts one at a time.
