Cambridge, Massachusetts (September 11, 2019)

Onshape, the leading cloud product development platform, was named to the annual Forbes Cloud 100, the iconic business magazine’s list of the “best and the brightest” of private cloud computing companies. Along with partners Bessemer Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures, Forbes compiled the list based on metrics such as revenue, sales growth, valuation and culture – combined with recommendations from executives from 40 public cloud companies.

The Cloud 100 covers a wide range of business-critical online tools, including analytics, operations, security, HR, finance, customer support, marketing and collaboration.

“We’re honored to be part of the Forbes Cloud 100 for the third consecutive year,” says Onshape CEO and co-founder Jon Hirschtick. “We didn’t build a modern cloud product development platform from scratch for the sake of being in the cloud, but so our customers can design their products faster and better. So It’s no surprise that some of our fellow companies in the Forbes Cloud 100 – such as Stripe, HashiCorp, InVision, Zapier, Carta, Outreach and CloudBees – help us to be faster and more productive, too.”

Onshape is the only product development platform that combines CAD, release management, workflow, collaboration, analytics, admin tools, and an API with more than 50 engineering applications. Thousands of companies rely on Onshape to modernize and streamline their design and manufacturing processes for products such as medical devices, aircraft, electric vehicles, consumer products, advanced robotics, drones, radiation detectors, X-ray machines, and quantum computers.

Onshape’s real-time data management speeds up collaboration between internal teams and external partners, eliminating the need for engineers to check files in and out of a PDM vault – which restricts product design work to only one person at a time. Onshape’s unique database architecture enables multiple people to simultaneously work on an assembly or review the latest up-to-the-minute design changes. Whenever an engineer updates a design, everyone else on the team instantly sees it.

“Although the product development world is one of the last industries to embrace cloud productivity tools, forward-thinking companies are not looking in the rear-view mirror,” adds Hirschtick. “Teams are now empowered to iterate faster and deliver more innovative designs, while executives now have unprecedented real-time visibility into every stage of their design and manufacturing process.”
