Onshape drawing formats can be updated per drawing sheet. Update a drawing’s border display and border zones. In this Tech Tip, learn how to modify these properties in Onshape.
Updating Drawing Border Zones in the Sheet Properties
Onshape drawings can have multiple drawing sheets each with independent Sheet properties where the sheet scale, format, size, and zones are defined.
-
Open the Sheet properties from the sheet’s right-click context menu.
-
To update the drawing zones, select the Size dropdown list and click Custom.
-
You can either:
-
Keep Custom as the Size, which maintains the height and width of the original size.
-
Select the dropdown again and click the original size. The original size now shows the zone properties.
-
-
Set where the zone numbers start from: Start from bottom right or Start from top left.
-
Set the number of horizontal zones and vertical zones.
-
When Include border is checked, border zones are not on the drawing. When unchecked, there are no border zones on the drawing.
Updating Drawing Format Color and Thickness in the Drawing Properties
Onshape drawing format colors and thicknesses are found in the Drawing properties. Unlike Sheet properties, Drawing properties affect all sheets in the drawing.
-
Select the Drawing properties panel on the right side of your drawing.
-
Click the Formats icon
-
Format properties:
-
When Lock is set to Unlocked the format can be edited. When set to Locked the format cannot be edited.
