Tech Tip: Real-Time Chat

Onshape users have had the ability to create Comments in the Document for some time now. But thanks to a recent update, Comments can now be used for real-time chat.

When multiple team members are in a Document, and a comment is created, the Comments flyout automatically appears.

This instantly brings a comment to everyone’s attention. Comments will only fly out automatically once per session, to notify you of the discussion, but not irritate you with subsequent comments.

Remember, you can also tag individuals with a comment if you don't want to address everyone in the Document. This will give that user an individual notification that they’ve been tagged in the Document.

Comments are one of the ways that Onshape has revolutionized collaboration in CAD. So if you are still sending emails with screenshots to communicate, there’s now a better way!
