Onshape Documents

Onshape Documents are a new concept in CAD that makes it easy to manage and organize project information. They enable you to create, import, and organize not just your CAD data but also all information pertinent to your CAD projects. Each type of data – parts, assemblies, images, and more – is stored in its own tab within the Onshape Document.

Part Studio

Onshape’s Part Studio provides a workspace to create and edit sketches, curves, surfaces, and parts. It enables you to capture design intent and create inter-part relationships in your CAD model. With a full history of all edits, you can fearlessly design complex solid, surface, and sheet metal parts using top-down or bottom-up methodologies on any device.

Assemblies

With Onshape, you can create highly structured and detailed CAD assemblies with built-in standard hardware and parts linked from other . Onshape gives you the power to capture complex kinematic relationships with a single Mate, design parts in-context, and manage updates predictably. Onshape’s unique database architecture further supports assembly design by eliminating the problem of broken file references.

Drawings

Onshape’s CAD Drawings produce production-ready documentation for parts and assemblies, leveraging industry standards for detailing and manufacturing. Only Onshape’s cloud-native platform lets you share custom templates between users on any platform. And you can release CAD drawings to manufacturing using Onshape’s built-in Release Management with automatic part numbering and customizable revision schemes.

Frames

Onshape Frames lets users create structural frame designs in Onshape. This toolset accelerates the design and development of structural frames by taking advantage of a library of standard frame profiles, comprehensive frame trimming, and a built-in cut list to ensure accuracy in the manufacturing process.

Configurations

With Onshape’s Configurations features, you can create complex families of parts and assemblies to enable and manage product variations. Each configuration can be revision controlled independently with Onshape’s Release Management tools. By configuring selections, you can minimize the need to model every possible permutation in advance. 

Sheet Metal

Sheet metal designs are versatile, cost-effective, and durable, suitable for industries like automotive, aerospace, and consumer electronics. Any edits made to your design will be reflected in the CAD BOM in real time; Onshape’s BOM can never be out of sync with the assembly.
